AI Work & Skills Forum Expands to Saudi Arabia and GCC with Regional Leadership Appointment
The AI Work & Skills Forum (AIWSF) is proud to announce its expansion into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Middle East region, marking a major milestone in its mission to shape the future of work and skills in the age of AI.
Building on successful events in the UK, AIWSF will establish a dedicated presence in Saudi Arabia as a launchpad for regional activities. The expansion reflects the Forum’s commitment to supporting Vision 2030’s ambitious digital transformation agenda and developing an AI-ready workforce.
The announcement coincides with Expand North Star and GITEX Global 2025, two of the world’s most influential technology gatherings taking place this week in Dubai – a fitting backdrop as AIWSF strengthens its footprint across the Gulf. These events highlight the region’s accelerating investment in AI, digital skills, and innovation ecosystems – priorities that lie at the heart of AIWSF’s mission.

To lead this next phase, AIWSF has appointed Shak Ahmed as Regional Partner – Middle East. Based in Riyadh, Shak brings over 15 years of commercial leadership across AI, fintech, and digital transformation, with a proven track record of driving market growth and building trusted partnerships across the Middle East. This includes working with enterprises and governments to deliver scalable, AI-first solutions aligned with national digital agendas.
As Regional Partner, Shak will spearhead AIWSF’s regional strategy by convening government leaders, enterprises, and academic institutions to address the opportunities and challenges of AI in the workplace.
Isa Mutlib, Founder of AI Work & Skills Forum, said:
“Saudi Arabia is at the forefront of global AI adoption, and the Middle East is rapidly emerging as a hub for digital innovation. Announcing our expansion during GITEX week underscores our shared vision with the region – connecting policy, business, and education to prepare the workforce for an AI-driven future. We are delighted to appoint Shak as Regional Partner; his experience and networks make him the ideal partner to drive meaningful impact.”
Shak Ahmed, Regional Partner – Middle East, added:
“It’s an honour to represent AIWSF across Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. The Forum’s mission aligns perfectly with the region’s ambition to lead in AI-powered workforce transformation. Together, we’ll create a platform that fosters collaboration, skills development, and tangible commercial outcomes.”
Through this collaboration, AIWSF Arabia plans to launch a series of initiatives designed to deepen collaboration and accelerate knowledge-sharing across the region. These will include executive roundtables, video series and podcasts.
This expansion marks the beginning of a new chapter for AIWSF, one that connects the UK, Saudi Arabia, and the Middle East through a shared commitment to preparing people and organisations for the AI-driven future of work.
