Oliver is a policy advisor in the Government Innovation Policy team focused on the use of artificial intelligence in public services and its impact on work. He has conducted research on governing in the age of AI, focusing on central and local government in the UK and in Africa. He has also led on in-depth research into digital labour platforms, proposing a policy framework for government approaches to platform work in different areas across the world. Oliver was previously at the Centre for Social Justice, where he organised a high-profile commission that fed into the United Kingdom government’s National Disability Strategy.
